Pulis was a centre half and played for numerous clubs including Bristol Rovers, Newport County, Bournemouth and Gillingham. He first went into management with Bournemouth in a player/coach role and then became Harry Redknapp’s understudy. He took the reins when Redknapp left the club. Following his spell at Bournemouth he went to Gillingham. In 2002, he was appointed manager of Stoke City. After his long spell he eventually guided the club to promotion in 2007/8 into the Premier League. During his time at Stoke he managed to secure European football, and getting through their group in the Europa League. More recently Pulis has had spells at Crystal Palace and West Brom and is currently in charge of Championship side, Middlesbrough.
