Boothroyd takes up Colchester challenge

Former Watford manager Aidy Boothroyd has been named the new manager of League 1 side Colchester United. The 38 year old, who has been out of management since leaving his Vicarage Road post last November, replaces Paul Lambert.

Boothroyd enjoyed a successful spell at Watford leading the Hornets to the Premier League in 2006 and the FA Cup semi finals in 2007. Aidy will be looking to continue Colchester's bright start to the season with all eyes on securing promotion back to the Championship.
