The business was founded in 1986 by Jon Smith and from its inception it represented the England football team for a decade and developed the commercial structure known as "Team England" that still exists today. First Artist was involved in the formation of the Premier League and was instrumental in assisting Sky launch this in 1992. We were also the commercial agents for the England Cricket Team for 10 years as well as the Welsh Rugby Team.

First Artist benefits from the significant experience of its directors Phil Smith and Vincenzo Morabito who are respected and well connected within the football industry, its governing bodies and the media.

In the UK First Artist manages a roster of some 200 players, a large number of who play in the Premier League. We also represent certain Premier League clubs and in addition to player representation, hold licences from FIFA and UEFA to organise football matches, tours and other events. The successful acquisition and integration of Mel Stein's company Team Sports Management in 2005 has greatly strengthened the business in the UK.

In 2001, First Artist acquired the Milan agency, Promosport, which manages a pan-European roster of some 100 players; the majority of whom are based in Italy with many in Serie A clubs with others in Spain, Germany, France and Eastern Europe.

In July 2006 First Artist acquired the leading football agency in Denmark, headed by Karsten Aabrink. Renamed First Artist Scandinavia A/s the company has offices in Denmark, Norway and Portugal and actively operates in Germany, Holland Sweden and Belgium. The company has a player roster of some 90 players including some 50% of the Danish full international squad and several U-21 internationals with players representing clubs throughout Europe, including UK Premier League clubs.

First Artist Sport represents a further 20 players around the globe through its offices in Washington DC and Qatar and has a pan-global network of associated agents throughout Europe, South America, Far East and Australia.
