Sebastian Bassong, a centre-half, started out at the well respect Clairefontaine Academy in France. From there Metz signed Bassong, where he made 79 appearances. He then transferred to Newcastle United and made his debut against Coventry City in the League Cup in August 2008. His first Premier League match came against Arsenal. In 2008-09, Bassong was awarded as Newcastle Player of the Season. In August 2009, he agreed a 5 year deal with Tottenham Hotspur, scoring on his debut against Liverpool. In 2012, Bassong joined Wolves on loan. In August 2012 Bassong joined Norwich City on a permanent deal, linking up with previous manager Chris Hughton, who worked with him at Newcastle. He scored his first goal for the Club in a 90th minute equaliser against Everton. In May 2013, he was named Norwich City Player of the Season. Following his spell at Norwich, Bassong joined Watford on loan, making 11 appearances. Bassong is currently a free-agent.
