Roger Johnson secures Wolves move

Roger Johnson secures Wolves moveFirst Artist are delighted to confirm the transfer of client Roger Johnson from Birmingham City to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Having established himself as one of the Premier Leagues most consistent performers, the commanding centre back lifted the Carling Cup at Wembley in May before a heartbreaking relegation on the final day of the season. However after attracting immediate attention, Roger opted for a move to Molineux where he has signed a 4 year contract.

Speaking after putting pen to paper Roger admitted the lure of staying in the Premier League led to him leaving St. Andrew’s. He said: “I made some great friends there. It was a difficult decision but I want to be in the Premier League, that’s the end of it. I’m sure a few people will be disappointed I’ve not stuck it out, but I’m 28 and I want to be in the Premier League for as long as I can. Nothing against Birmingham, I had some great times there, the fans were great for me. But for me this feels right. Some fans will understand why I’ve moved, that is an opportunity to progress again, while some will be really disappointed I’ve jumped ship. But I reiterate again, I want to be in the Premier League for as long as I can. It’s been a long road to get here and I don’t want it to end.”
