Ljungberg leaves Seattle for Chicago

Freddie Ljungberg - Chicago FireFormer Arsenal star Freddie Ljungberg has moved from Seattle Sounders to Chicago Fire in one of the most significant moves of the MLS transfer window.

Freddie has been a huge success in the MLS since joining from West Ham in 2009. The trade to Chicago, negotiated by First Artist, will see him link up with 3 former Premier League stars in Brian McBride and Collins John formerly of Fulham and ex-Manchester City forward Nery Castillo.

In 2009, Ljungberg was an MLS all-star and named to the MLS Best XI, essentially the best 11 players in the league. Last year, he scored two goals and had a team-high eight assists.
